You’re too quick for me!
I’ve been dealing with a few problems with WordPress 4.7, and adding a few updates for ACF PRO v5.5+
4.31 brewing…
Luke OathamKeymasterAfter you turn on a new module you may need to go to Settings, Permalinks and update a few times.
Luke OathamKeymasterI updated to V4.30.1 and was able to activate a child them with only a blank style.css file in the child theme. Thank you! Interesting to me is that I was expecting with a blank style.css file in the child theme that it would only use the default browser stylesheets. But it pulled in the parent styles without having to enqueue them or do an @import in the child theme style.css. That works for me!
Sorry that it has taken so long to reply to the thread. In the US here we’ve had a holiday and I’ve been trying to catch up on all my duties.
Luke OathamKeymasterLooks like you need to start at the beginning: https://help.govintra.net/task/setup-guide-instructions/plugins/
You need Advanced Custom Fields Pro plugin in order to see the Options, and bbPress plugin to use the staff directory.
Luke OathamKeymasterThe filter options in your screenshot do not show Staff or Teams – it looks like you need to switch on these modules in Options. If you’ve already done this you may need to flush permalinks (Settings, Permalinks, Save)
See: https://help.govintra.net/task/setup-the-staff-directory/
Luke OathamKeymasterHi Gavin
V4.28 contains new support for child themes, which required some changes to how directories are referenced within the theme. This update may help. You’ll need to update theme and plugin files. Files have been removed from the theme folder, so you must overwrite the theme folder to ensure old templates are removed.
You could try installing the default WordPress themes too – twentysixteen, twentyfifteen etc. as it looks like the installation is trying to default to these – just so that you can get back to the admin screen.
I managed to bodge my installation when testing the child theme updates and got WSOD too. I had to edit the wp_options table in the database and reset entries where option_name is template, stylesheet and current_theme in order to get back to the admin screen.
Let me know how you get on with the latest version.
Luke
Luke OathamKeymasterV4.28 should now support child themes!
I’ve tested this with just a style.css file in the child theme.
Please let me know how you get on with this.
Luke OathamKeymasterYour timezone settings are in Settings, General. All dates and times in the theme will use this default setting.
The theme doesn’t support custom time zones for individual events.
Luke OathamKeymaster@nick I’ve uploaded some changes to the plugin. This is still work in progress. Recent changes introduce a link to the page that the document is attached to. It should also ignore uncategorised. New functionality causes some performance issues and this is still in testing. Only the Media A to Z template contains new features. The document finder template still needs to be updated to reflect new changes.
Luke OathamKeymasterJust checking that you’ve activated the new Media A to Z plugin and followed instructions on the news release https://help.govintra.net/news/version-4-27-updates/
Luke OathamKeymasterAre there any images appearing that have no A to Z, category or document type assigned?
Items need to have a least one categorisation in order to appear in the doc finder.
There have been a few updates to the plugin since v4.27.3 – can you try downloading just the Media A to Z plugin to check the latest?
Luke OathamKeymasterThank you, Luke.
I do see that the new version of the theme (I am currently on 4.26.3) and Media A to Z plugin have been announced so I will upgrade and experiment.
Luke OathamKeymasterHi Rebecca
Can you try the latest events listing plugin? There’s been a few updates today which may help.
Luke
Luke OathamKeymasterYou need to use a different template. The HT Media A to Z plugin will give you the Media A to Z template to use on your page, and will also add a new A to Z taxonomy for use with media items.
This plugin is still in development. Over the past weeks, we’ve been working on different template layouts to accommodate search, A to Z, document type and category filters. The version on github may be a little behind the demo site while we have been testing new iterations.
We’ve also had reports that the Media Categories plugin has not been updated in over two years, and so there are plans to incorporate this functionality into the media a to z plugin. And also plans to enhance the document type taxonomy to allow filtering in the admin screens.
Introducing the Media A to Z plugin makes the document finder template redundant and I’m also thinking about removing this template from the theme in due course.
Luke OathamKeymasterOh dear. Thanks for spotting. I can’t believe this hasn’t been picked up before.
I’ll get this fixed in V4.26.3
