Can Guides be nested more than one level on tasks? I am trying to create an employee handbook that is composed of chapters (1, 2, 3) and sub-chapters (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.1) and wonder if sub-chapters can be created as tasks, chapters as guides, non sub-chapter chapters as task, and the top level “handbook” as a guide?
Thank you for the assistance and for a great and useful theme!
It’s sort of possible, but not recommended! You’d need to include manual links to the lower levels within the content.
The design of the “How do I?” section is to provide quick answers, ideally on one page, or on several pages if necessary. You’d be better setting up your handbook as hierarchical “pages” using the “Page with left-nav” template which supports unlimited levels.
Even better would be to create individual tasks in the “How do I?” section for each item of your handbook and categorise/tag accordingly.
Thank you so much for the advice. I agree with the “How do I” philosophy of quick answers and easily searchable. The handbook needs its own tab/menu item and a “Page with left-nav” would work very well. We will then link the individual sections (cross referenced) in the “How do I” section.
You guys have done good work here…we enjoy the template and hope to be part of your cheerleading section for some time to come.
Cheers
