Hi again,
I’ve everything mostly setup, but am stuck on one thing. When I go to /staff-directory and about/projects nothing appears in the listings and searching on those pages bring up nothing, even though I have added users and projects. If I go to a specific staff or project page (e.g., /staff/username) I see the staff member’s profile like it should be. Also, if I go to the category page for the project archives (e.g., /projects), I see the list of projects.
It’s just that nothing is showing up on specific pages I have created with the Projects or Staff Directory Grid templates.
I’m sure it’s just a setting I have overlooked somewhere, but can’t seem to figure it out.
Thanks again for your help.

Hi Matt – this feels like a problem with permalinks. You need to make sure that you don’t have a page with a slug of /projects – this will clash with the individual projects. The /about/projects should work fine if it’s setup with the projects template.
Similarly with the staff profiles, do you have a page with a slug of /staff ?
Otherwise, are you able to attach some screenshots showing the URL address and body content? -

My permalinks are ok, but I’m wondering if it may have something to do with the fact that I have the site setup in a sub-directory (currently /staff-new). I’ve attached a screenshot of the staff directory page. There are staff members entered, but as you can see, nothing shows up on this page, when you search on this page, or when you Browse Teams.
Thanks again.

Silly question but do they have first and last names entered?
From another angle, are you using default database table names, i.e. wp_usermeta ?

Yes, they do have first and last names.
However, I do change the WP table prefixes for security measures. That could be it?

Ha…Yeah, the search button is on my list. I hadn’t seen that link, thanks!
And thanks for looking into it further. Very much appreciated.

Okay, updates for the staff directory and team templates are on github.
I’m surprised you haven’t encountered more problems across the theme as I’m pretty sure there’s a fair bit of hardcoded queries. I’ll get round to updating…

Great, thanks! The fix for those two files worked great.

I broke down and changed the table prefix back to wp_ just to avoid any other problems.
I’m still not able to see any listings on the project page. The tags show in the right sidebar, but I get the “Nothing to Show” message under the search box.
On another note, the tags that do appear in the sidebar have broken links. All tag links are “domain.com/tagged/?tag=tag”. (The link is actually ‘tag’; that’s not just a placeholder for the tag’s nams.) The news landing page has the same problem with tags: they appear, but the links are wrong.
Thanks for all your help getting started. These are the last two little issues I’m working.
